We can create such environment by labelling different things in the classroom eg. class furniture, water area, books and craft material- crayons, colour pencils ,manipulatives like blocks, having charts and posters relevant to the topics for the week, calendar , Classlist ,numbers display etc.

Pictures and other print materials help the child to learn language in a creative manner. Books narration and reading further help to learn language in a productive way. Yes the print materials should be according to the children level of understand.

WE CAN LABEL ALL CLASSROOM MATERIALS LIKE DUSBIN, INTERACTIVE BOARD , TABLES CHAIRS ETC. FLASH CARDS, WORD WALLS, READING BORADS , NAME TAGS ETC. HELP CHILDREN TO RECOGNISE LETTERS, WORK ON PHONOLOGY AND READING SKILLS. THEY LEARN YO BLEND PHONETICS TO PRONOUNCE THE WORD AND RELATE TO THE OBJECT IT IS ASSOCIATED WITH. It helps a child in interaction conversations etc. We can label all the objects in an around the classes for the child to read and understand himself. ReplyDeleteIt must include, sight words, flashcards, letter/word-picture-association. Story book names and the their respective characters. Basic routine or regular action depiction through picture and sentence construction.
For Numbers,
Number symbols with the respective pictures of no.of objects.
Pre-number concept drawings with the names.

work relating to the theme;
Print rich environment is where a child can explore with words by pronouncing it louder and clarity in speech will be developed .In my class , I will provide Flash cards , Charts with Pictures , Book corner etc. for a print rich environment.

Labeled learning centres, sign boards for different activities eg., of a timetable/schedule/ flowchart, pictures reinforcing the theme / concepts taught for the month, word walls, story walls, alphabet patti, number patti, kavita patti, building as learning aids, floor painted with letters or words, posters for rhymes/ stories shared on the class,

Secondly, it has to be read with the children pointing to the words whenever it is read- 20 minutes of reading a day will help the child imbibe the skill which whenever practices get reinforced in the working memeory. Thirdly, children must be allowed to copy the posters in a mini version of what may be called- TIP chart- Term, Information, Picture as an aid for reinforcement.
A print- rich classroom or an environment aids in instilling essential skills needed for reading- children acquire the skills of exploration and discovery. Children develop interest in applying what they see through reading.
This information rich environmet provides a wealth of information and hence elicit abundant possibilities of learning.
An ideal learning environmet encourages three levels of classroom interaction- teacher- student, student- student, student - content.
