To make it possible, FLN can conduct CPD sessions, trainings and demo classes for the teachers especially who are in rural. FLN can track the progress of each child and can instruct the trainer to provide additional needs for the child. Finally, I hope, FLN will make each child to be confidence in learning and also teaches "how to learn".

Over the years, a great deal of knowledge has been accumulated about how best to ensure that children’s foundations are built in a timely manner. One key learning is that this process must start in the pre-primary years with some generic cognitive and language skills, well before children enter Class I, and build upward from there.

ReplyDeleteThere is a proverb in Tamil saying " What won't bend at five will not bend at fifty". Child has the right to learn in a play way method and its the responsibility of the teacher. This is possible only when the teacher does it whole heartedly, ideas will come only when we have interest to do it. We should not consider this as a burden lets enjoy teaching this play way method so that a better generation we can form.

ReplyDeleteThe key point to note for all the ECCE educators is the Class 3 is the inflection point for the children because till then the focus is on 'Learn to Read' and from then onwards, the focus will be on 'Read to Learn' If there is a gap in learning to read, then the gap further widens in the subsequent years leading to lesser learning outcomes being met and the child lagging behind in multiple areas of learning.

As FLN mission states , all stake holders, teachers, educators, students, parents and community people are responsible for accomplishment of the mission.
Education at early age is very important, as children of that age are very curious and good observers. They like to experience everything they do.
Through hands on activity and practical life skills methods children develop multi Intelligence skills like - good cognitive skills, motor skills, problem solving skills, linguistic skills, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal skills, spatial -visual skills.
Enhancement in their confidence,coordination,concentration, memory, thinking, creativity, patience which is very important for their well being and to be good future citizen.
In the video, it was very evidently shown that we have to stop or avoid misconceptions about child learning.
Mainly, At school or home children should enjoy learning with fun which will definitely leave great impact on their overall development.

It triggers the curiosity and asking questions to link the important concept in our surroundings. The children can be encouraged to explore and experience by themselves rather than bookish knowledge.

boys and girls by providing equal attention, respect, and equal learning
opportunities; we should select books, pictures, posters, toys/materials and other
activities that is not gender biased; and also while speaking to the learners or giving instructions in the classrooms we should ensure equality.

With a good grasp of the language and problem solving skills developed through ECCE, the students stand to be in a much better position to grasp the tougher aspects of literacy and numeracy at higher levels because of confidence in their skills developed through the practical methodology of ECCE.

Songs, rhymes, stories, discussions, sharing, talking, sorting, quantifying, classifying etc are such activities which will serve as a precursor to FLN and help as strong base. Such activities should be hands on and with various age appropriate TLAs which provides visuals to the children and at the same time should be sensorial in nature.
